This girl is absolutely gorgeous :)
This was probably my favorite scene from the film. In context with French culture, this is beautiful. Islamophobia is not just a problem in the United States, you know. The far right political parties in France have made Islam and immigration into quite the issue and the Arab populations are suffering immensely for it. For instance, the unemployment rate in France is currently sitting around 10%, however, the unemployment and underemployment rate amongst Arabs and Muslims sits around 30%, forcing them into the ghettos and rough banlieues north of Paris. Arabs and Muslims also represent 50% of the prison population.
Knowing all of this makes acts of kindness towards Muslims, even if they’re only depicted on film, all the more beautiful - as sad as that is.
The one part of the film that I really liked or cared about. It was just precious.

Ok so I had another thought, I would like to have main contributors. People that I can trust to write/submit things that we can post daily!
Kinda like:
- An advice section
- A convert/revert section - tips from other converts/reverts for new people joining Islam.
- A daily Du’a person that finds awesome du’as for each day
- Someone with a daily Hadith?
- Someone to write articles or find articles directed towards brothers
- Someone to write articles or find articles directed towards sisters
And etc :) What do you think?
Basic Ideas I have About This:
Ok, so my idea was to make this Tumblr and allow posts/submissions/videos/pictures of everyone’s everyday life as a Muslim in order to give the world a different view of what it truly is like to be Muslim. With all the negative news coverage and Islamophobia that is around I think it would be great for us Tumblr Muslims to open our lives up a bit and tell/show what we Muslims are really like. I have no title on the page and the Url is definitely not permanent. I need ideas for both. I also need help spreading the word so please invite all the Muslims you know to join and add to the page. Also, if you’d like to help in any way let me know!
So yeah I need for you all:
- Spreading the word
- Help naming the page
- Help with URL if it should be changed
- Submissions!
